Birla Corporation Limited (BCL) is the flagship company of MP Birla Group. Incorporated as Birla Jute Manufacturing Company Limited in 1919, it was Late Shri Madhav Prasad Ji Birla who took the company to new heights. As the Chairman of the company, he transformed it from a jute manufacturing company to a leading multi-product corporation with widespread activities.

Under the chairmanship of Late Shrimati Priyamvada Ji Birla, the company crossed Rs. 1,300-crore turnover mark. In 1998, the company name was changed from Birla Jute Manufacturing Company to Birla Corporation Limited.

After the demise of Late Shrimati Priyamvada Ji Birla, the company continued to consolidate in terms of profitability, competitiveness and growth under the leadership of the Late Shri Rajendra Singh Ji Lodha, the then chairman of MP Birla Group. Under his leadership, the company posted its best-ever results .The company continued to record impressive growth in the succeeding years.

Shri Harsh V Lodha is the current chairman of the company. The company had a turnover of Rs. 7,461.22 crores in 2021-22 and a net profit of Rs. 398.59 crores.

In 2016,BCL has acquired 100% shares of Reliance Cement Company Private Limited (Reliance Cement), a subsidiary of Reliance Infrastructure Limited (RIL). After this acquisition, Reliance Cement has become a wholly-owned material subsidiary of BCL. The entire cement business of RIL has been acquired for an enterprise value of Rs. 4,800 crores. This acquisition provided BCL with the ownership of high-quality assets including three plants at Maihar, Kundanganj and Butibori.

We are the proud owner of 11 plants spread across the nation in Durgapur, Satna, Maihar, Raebareli, Kundanganj, Chanderia, Butibori & Mukutban. We have a product portfolio of 11 brands, operating in 13 states with a family of more than 10000 dealers and 20000 retailers and 100000 influencers.

In 2022, Birla Corporation Limited added another prestigious milestone to its legacy with the launch of the 3.90 Million ton per annum Integrated Plant at Mukutban, Maharashtra.
