    This fast-track project for NTPC involves design, engineering, manufacture, supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning for the North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project in Jharkhand.

    The plant will have three units, each having a generation capacity of 660 MW. Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) bagged the contract worth Rs 7,900 crore.

    The work for the project commenced in July 2016. MP Birla Cement Concrecem, OPC grade 43 and MP Birla Cement Multicem are used for the project which is closely monitored by the Govt. of India.

    North Karanpura thermal project is the first power station in India near a coal mine with environment friendly super critical technology.

    The project is equipped with Ari Cooled Condenser(ACC) to reduce the water requirement by 80% compared to the conventional method, thus protecting the environment by minimal usage of land and water.
